I realized as our sons were growing up that I would need something beyond being a Mother and working. I always enjoyed doing projects. With the boys it was pjs, robes and Halloween costumes, Christmas decorations. I suppose I come by it naturally as both my grandmothers did projects when they visited us, whether it was sewing, crocheting or cooking.
20 years ago, I visited a quilt shop and I knew I was in my element. I took some classes, met some people, got a new sewing machine and I was on my way. I was then invited to join a new quilt group which I am still a part of. Now it is so many years later and I am still hooked on quilting and I have added machine embroidery. PineCone Creations was formed in 2001 – there have been many changes over the years but my niche is still quilting and embroidery.
